Giorgi Gigashvili learned to play the piano without considering a professional career. Rather, his passion was singing and arranging folk and pop songs from his homeland. At the age of thirteen, he even participated in the Georgian edition of “The Voice” and won. Even after that success, he continued his classical training.

With the program “Georgian on my mind,” the Tbilisi-born pianist embarks on a quest across musical traditions. He combines folk-inspired piano pieces by composers such as Chopin and Brahms with his own arrangements of Georgian folk songs, performed by his partner, Nini Nutsubidze, whose soft, velvety voice lends them a distinctive touch. Gigashvili’s jazz improvisations on piano add further nuance to this sonic universe.
